About Wale
I am currently a PhD student at the University of Nottingham, where I am researching water pollution assessment using geospatial data. My work focuses on evaluating and comparing various data sources, such as social media, news articles, satellite imagery, and other ground source data, to gain a deeper understanding of water pollution incidents. I am particularly interested in exploring the potential of data fusion to develop more effective and comprehensive methods for monitoring and managing water quality.
Before joining the CDT at University of Nottingham, I earned a Bachelor of Technology in Urban and Regional Planning and a Master’s degree in Geographic Information Systems. I have also spent a considerable number of years in the GIS industry, where I have played a significant role in delivering GIS solutions across various sectors. My experience spans complex spatial analysis, designing and building GIS processes and infrastructure, and architecting GIS platforms.
I am passionate about leveraging emerging technologies to tackle complex spatial challenges and drive innovation in the field. This enthusiasm fuels my research, pushing me to explore new possibilities and contribute meaningfully to advancements in geospatial technology and environmental monitoring
