About Michael
Before joining the CDT, I read Physics at Oxford University and Maths at the Open University, where I developed an interest in scientific computing that led me to work as a software engineer. I have since spent 5 years at Evolution Risk Assurance, developing software for use in emergency preparedness and response.
My PhD research explores how LLMs can enhance agent-based simulations across the modelling pipeline, from data preparation to behavioural representation. At the data level, I investigate the use of LLMs for synthetic population generation. At the behavioural level, I study how they can function as decision modules, allowing simulations to capture more adaptive and context-aware human responses.
